Highway Nine Re-surfacing To Impact Dickinson Co. Gravel Roads

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county supervisors are concerned over the impact re-surfacing Highway nine between Highway 86 and the Osceola county line will have on gravel roads.

The project is slated for later this spring and summer.

The Department of Transportation has informed the county that several gravel roads will be used by contractors to haul materials from a blacktop plant near the Little Sioux Church west of Milford. County Engineer Dan Eckert told the Board of Supervisors he’s concerned over the wear and tear the trucks might cause along with dust. The board directed Eckert to discuss those issues with D-O-T representatives.
