Harris-Lake Park School Board Discusses Building Project

November 23, 2014

(Lake Park)– The Harris-Lake Park School board spent a portion of its meeting Monday talking about the upcoming building project. Board members heard proposals from two construction management firms, but Superintendent Tim Christianson says no action was taken. Christianson says they’re not sure yet if they want to use a management firm.

Board members also tabled action on 28E agreements with the city of Lake Park and Lake Park Library Board over the shared portions of the project. Christianson says some legal language needs to be worked out.

Christianson says the board also talked about but took no action on a proposal to form a committee that would give input on the building project. Instead, he says they’re thinking about holding regular public meetings to keep everyone up to date.

Harris-Lake Park School Board members also met with architects Monday and started to refine plans somewhat. Christianson says there’s still a ways to go before they’re finalized, and that more public meetings will be held before that’s the case. He says they’re still planning for a bidletting in February with construction to hopefully start early in the spring.
