(Webb)– A charcoal grill was to blame for a rural Clay county house fire this past weekend. That word from Dave Schipper, an investigator for the State Marshall’s Office.
Webb Fire Chief Tim Sylvester tells KUOO news the Jim Ludwig home four miles east and a quarter mile south of Webb was a total loss as the result of Saturday’s blaze.
The Webb Fire Department was assisted by the Albert City, Marathon, and Sioux Rapids fire departments.
Chief Sylvester says strong winds hampered their efforts to bring the fire under control.
The Ludwig family got out of the burning house uninjurred.
