(Milford)– Two grassfires in as many days have been keeping Milford firefighters on their toes.
Crews were called to the scene of a ditch fire along a county road west of Milford about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. Fire Chief Don Eckard says no structures were threatened by the blaze. He says it was the result of a trash fire that got out of hand.
Milford firefighters were called around 3:30 this (Thurs.) afternoon to a grassfire in a field on the east side of Highway 86 near the Presbyterian Camp in Wahpeton. Eckard says a passerby who noticed and reported the fire managed to get most of it put out by the time firefighters arrived. The fire covered only a small area. The cause isn’t certain.
