(Gruver)– A sanitary sewer project in Gruver has been awarded federal funding.
A 90-thousand dollar grant and a 110-thousand dollar loan have been awarded to Clay Regional Water of Spencer, which will construct a centralized collection system and lagoon. The system will be operated by Clay Regional Water through an intergovernmental agreement with Gruver.
The funding is from the U-S Department of Agriculture, which has awarded grants totaling 787,600-dollars and loans totaling slightly more than 1.6 million for water and waste disposal projects in six Iowa communities.
The Southern Sioux County Rural Water System in Ireton was awarded slightly more than 1.1 million dollars through the same program to improve a water distribution system and provide service to additional rural residents in Plymouth and Sioux counties.
