Graettinger Woman Charged In Jewelry Theft

November 22, 2014

(Graettinger)– A Graettinger woman has been charged in connection with a theft of some jewelry from a residence in Graettinger earlier this month.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says they received a report on January 4th from a Graettinger woman about the theft of some jewelry from a residence in Graettinger. Deputy Daniel Jackson recovered some of the stolen jewelry later the same day from a West Okoboji pawn shop.

Authorities say a further investigation into the incident led to the arrest of 34-year-old Melisa Thilges of Graettinger. She was arrested at her home on Wednesday of this week and charged with theft in the second degree.

Thilges was booked into the Palo Alto county jail. She was later released on an unsecured bond of nearly 10-thousand dollars.
