Gasoline Prices Expected To Remain Stable…Maybe Even Fall Some More

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Recent declines in gasoline prices have made filling up almost fun again.

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in the Iowa Great Lakes is hovering around $1.26 a gallon. This is the lowest prices have been for months.

David Downing, an Energy Analyst for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, says the lower prices are attributed to several factors including a reduction in travel and a slumping economy…resulting in higher supplies. Downing cautions though the trend could quickly reverse if the war against terrorism spreads to other countries…Iraq in particular.
