(Jackson, Mn.)– An Ogden, Iowa man was injured Wednesday when strong wind blew a semi he was driving off the road north of Jackson.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 29-year-old Jacob Wingfield was driving a 1998 Mack semi northbound on Highway 71. Troopers say the trailer was empty and that a strong gust of wind blew it over into the northbound ditch. The rig came to rest on the passenger’s side in the bottom of the ditch.
Wingfield was taken to Sanford Hospital in Jackson where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
Severe damage was reported to the semi.
The incident took place around 7:20 a.m.
The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Jackson County Central Sheriff’s Office.
