(Spirit Lake)– Donations are being sought from Dickinson county municipalities and the county to purchase another piece of firefighting equipment.
Spirit Lake Fire Chief Wally Jorgenson was at today’s (Tues.) board of supervisor’s meeting requesting the county donate 50-thousand dollars toward a ladder truck, that has an estimated cost of 450-thousand dollars.
The truck would be housed at the Spirit Lake fire station and would respond to calls throughout the county when requested.
With funds being raised by another lakes area fire department to purchase a fire boat, Supervisor Chairman David Gottsche said it’s time for the departments to better coordinate the purchase of equipment.
The supervisors took no action on the request. Jorgenson said the funds wouldn’t be needed until the 2006 fiscal year.
