(Little Rock)– A freak accident Tuesday involving a truck and a trailer injured a Little Rock man.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says 57-year-old Arlan Arends of Little Rock was operating a 2005 International truck that was pulling a cattle trailer. Deputies say Arends was northbound when the truck and trailer started rolling backward. It jackknifed and crashed through a privacy fence and collided with a tree before coming to rest in a yard.
Arends was taken by ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids and was later transferred to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls.
1,500-dollars in damage was estimated to the truck; damage to the fence was estimated at about a thousand dollars.
The crash took place around 12:17 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities say it’s still under investigation.
