(Wallingford)– A four-wheeler is said to have been the cause of a grass fire early Sunday afternoon near Wallingford.
Fire Chief Jarrod Fischer says Wallingford firefighters were called to the scene about a quarter of a mile north of Wallingford shortly after Noon. Fischer says some kids had been operating a four-wheeler in some tall grass when it apparently backfired and started some grass on fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.
Damage to the four-wheeler was estimated at less than 200-dollars.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were on the scene about 20 minutes.
The Wallingford Fire Department was assisted by the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office.
