November 23, 2014

(Brandon, Mn.)– A Fostoria man escaped injury when a vehicle he was driving was involved in a fatal crash in western Minnesota.

Authorities say 55-year-old Bruce Monson of Prior Lake, Minnesota was driving a Chevrolet Avalanche southbound on a county road when he struck a northbound motorhome head-on.

Monson was pronounced dead at the scene; the driver of the motorhome, 71-year-old Gale Jacobson of Fostoria, wasn’t hurt. A passenger in the motorhome, 64-year-old Kathleen Shatto of Fostoria, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities with the Douglas County, Minnesota Sheriff’s Office say the crash, which happened this past Sunday, remains under investigation.
