Former Storm Lake Police Officer Charged With Harrassment

November 23, 2014

(Storm Lake)– A former Storm Lake police officer has been charged in connection with reports of telephone harassment.

According to the Storm Lake Police Department, a report was received Tuesday of an ongoing pattern of phone harassment at a Storm Lake residence. Police allege 29-year-old Jon Wacha of Lake Mills had repeatedly phoned the victim’s residence after being told not to. The calls had gone on for some time and are allegedly connected to a domestic situation involving the victim’s daughter.

Storm Lake police traveled to Lake Mills Wednesday night and interviewed Wacha. He was then charged with four counts of harassment, a simple misdemeanor. Wacha was released pending a court appearance.

Wacha is a former Storm Lake police officer who resigned in September of last year. He is currently a police officer in Lake Mills.
