(Okoboji)– A former executive with the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce has been named the new Chief Executive Officer at the Lakes Art Center.
It was announced Thursday Tom Tourville has been hired to the position. Tourville comes back to the Iowa Great Lakes after eight years as Executive Director of the La Crosse, Wisconsin Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Tourville says getting more people through the art center’s doors is one of his primary goals. He says he’ll be working closely with the center’s staff, volunteers, board of directors, advisors and members.
Lakes Art Center President Dave Rowley says the search for a new CEO started back in 2003. He says they were looking for a candidate that has energy, marketing ability and experience in the non-profit area. Rowley says Tourville is a perfect fit.
Tourville praised the staff at the Lakes Art Center, saying they’re the heart and soul of the operation.
