(Spencer)– Flooding continues along the Little Sioux River in the Spencer, Linn Grove and Cherokee areas.
Officials with the National Weather Service say the river should drop below flood stage Wednesday in the Spencer and Cherokee areas. It’s expected to remain above flood stage in the Linn Grove area until Thursday or Friday.
In Spencer this (Mon.) morning the Little Sioux was still a foot over the flood stage of 10 feet; in Linn Grove it was still a foot and-a-half above flood stage; and in Cherokee the Little Sioux was a little more than a foot above flood stage.
The Little Sioux crested atleast four four feet over flood stage in some areas late last week.
Showers are in the forecast, but the National Weather Service says any rainfall should be light and not enough to aggravate river levels.
