(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county residents who sustained property damage as a result of this week’s torrential rains are urged to call a hotline.
Dickinson County Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Ehret says anyone with damage should contact the Iowa Concern Hotline at 1-800-447-1985.
Ehret says those who call the number will have their names and extent of damage put into a data base that could help determine whether any future assistance may be available.
Ehret says he continues to hear from people that either had or still have water and/or sewage in basements. He says he’s heard several reports of that in Terril, along with some reports of basement walls that have either collapsed or are bowed out.
Ehret says anyone with damage should also contact their insurance agent. Farmers with crop damage should contact their local Farm Service Agency Office.
