(George)– An explosion caused by fireworks has claimed the life of a George man.
Lyon county authorities say 52-year-old Byron Kaiser was working with some fireworks when the explosion took place. The force of the blast blew the windows out of his home.
Kaiser was taken to a Sioux Falls hospital where he died Friday.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says the fireworks were more powerful than M-80’s.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office assisted in removing the fireworks.
An investigation continues.
