Fire Destroys Machine Shed On Rural Lake Park Farm

November 23, 2014

(Lake Park)– Fire destroyed a machine shed on a farm east of Lake Park early Sunday.

The Lake Park Fire Department was called to the Jon Gunderson farm four and-a-half miles east of Lake Park on 140th Street around 5:20 a.m.

Fire Chief Kurt Anderson tells KUOO news the shed was completely engulfed and that the roof had collapsed when firefighters arrived. He says atleast a couple of tractors and a combine in the building were destroyed.

The cause of the blaze isn’t certain. The State Fire Marshall has been called to investigate.

Anderson says no one was home at the time of the blaze…which was discovered by a passerby.

The Lake Park Fire Department was at the scene until about 7:00 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
