(Melvin)– Two hog confinement buildings on the Alvin Runia farm near Melvin were destroyed by fire earlier this week.
Firefighters from Melvin, May City and Ocheyedan were called to the scene around 3:30 a.m. Monday. The Ocheyedan ambulance stood by as a precaution.
An unknown number of hogs that were in the buildings perished.
A dollar amount of the loss wasn’t immediately available.
