(Spirit Lake)– No injuries were reported this (Fri.) morning in a house fire in the Monarch Cove area of West Lake Okoboji.
The Spirit Lake Fire Department was called to 15471 214th Avenue shortly after 7:00 a.m.
Fire Chief Wally Jorgenson says the fire was in the laundry room ceiling next to a light fixture. He says firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, and ventilated smoke from the rest of the house.
Residents of the house were present at the time and managed to get out uninjurred.
Jorgenson says the fire itself was contained to the one room of the home.
He says an electrical short may be to blame.
Spirit Lake firefighters were on the scene about an hour and-a-half.
