(Terril)– A grain bin on the Charles Berg farm near Terril was heavily damaged by fire Monday.
The Milford Fire Department was called to the scene around 1:00 p.m. Firefighters were there about four hours. Chief Don Eckard says some corn along the outer walls of the bin was destroyed…but farmers were able to auger out and save most of that which was in the middle.
Eckard says the cause of the blaze isn’t certain. No one was home at the time and no injuries were reported. The blaze was discovered by a farmer who was passing by and noticed fire and smoke coming from a blower.
The Terril Fire Department was called to the scene around 7:30 p.m. to extinguish a flare-up.
