Fire Crews Called To Lakes Regional Healthcare

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake Fire Department was called to Lakes Regional Healthcare Saturday on a report of a smell of something hot.

Upon arriving, Fire Chief Wally Jorgenson says they attempted to determine the source of the smell but were unsuccessful. Jorgenson says there was no actual fire and no smoke could be seen.

Firefighters left after spending about a half hour on the scene.

Jorgenson says hospital maintenance and construction crews continued to look for a possible source.

He says the smell was strongest on the southeast part of the second floor of a newly constructed area of the hospital.
