(Undated)– The filing period for the September school board elections opened this past Monday.
In Spirit Lake, the term of Carol Schultz expires this year. Schultz has indicated she’ll seek another three-year term.
Two seats expire this year on the Okoboji school board. Those are held by Tom Ahrends, who has indicated he will NOT be seeking another term; and Mark Fisher, who’s undecided. Both are three-year terms.
In the Terril district, the terms of Connie Mart and Bill Gerdeman run out this year. Mart has indicated she will NOT be seeking another term. Both seats are for three-year terms. All board members in the Terril district will now be elected on an at-large basis as a result of action taken by the board in April of this year.
And in the Harris-Lake Park district, seats held by Gary Johnson and Stan Anderson will be up for election in September.
The filing period runs out at 5:00 p.m. August 1st.
Papers are available at the Superintendent’s office of the district in which you reside.
