Fencing To Go Up Next Week At Dickinson Co. Courthouse

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– If you think it’s tough now to find a parking place near the Dickinson county courthouse, it’s about to become even more of a challenge.

County Auditor Nancy Reiman says she’s been informed that the General Contractor on the courthouse project will be fencing in the parking lot on the southwest side of the existing courthouse this coming Tuesday, and that parking will no longer be allowed in that lot.

Bob Schlager, the county’s owner representative on the project, says a temporary ramp will be constructed on the southwest side of the courthouse for handicap accessability, since the building’s only elevator is located near that entrance.

Also beginning next week, Ithaca Avenue between Highways nine and 71 and 19th Street will be closed to all traffic and will be accessible by construction crews only. No parking will be allowed in that area as well.
