November 22, 2014

(Lakefield, Mn.)– Two female juveniles are in custody in connection with a high speed chase that started around 8:15 p.m. Sunday in Lakefield and ended a short time later on Highway 86 north of Vick’s Corner.

Lakefield police say they were attempting to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation when the driver took off southbound on Highway 86 at speeds in excess of 100 miles-per-hour. Other Minnesota law enforcement agencies joined in the pursuit, which continued across the state line where Iowa authorities were finally able to stop the vehicle by deploying stop sticks.

Two female juveniles were taken into custody and were transported to the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office. Their names, ages and hometowns weren’t available.

Authorities say the incident remains under investigation.
