(Washington, D.C.)– The Spencer Highway 71 bypass has some new life. Five million dollars is included for the project in the Federal Transportation Bill filed Thursday in both the House and Senate. There’s no word from the state if the availability of federal funding will put the project on a faster timeframe.
The bill contains 2.3 billion dollars for Iowa projects over the next five years.
Included in that is 21.4 million dollars to expand U-S Highway 20 in Webster, Calhoun, Sac, Ida and Woodbury counties.
