Federal Fugitive Arrested In Dickens

November 22, 2014

(Dickens)– A federal fugitive wanted more than a year by authorities in Buena Vista, Clay and Woodbury counties and the U-S Marshal’s Service was arrested Thursday evening in Dickens.

39-year-old Leslie Andersen of Dickens was arrested around 8:30 p.m. at her residence at 117 Somers Street.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office in making the arrest. Authorities say they received a citizen’s tip that Andersen was at the residence.

Andersen was wanted on 14 warrants covering a variety of charges including theft in the first degree, forgery, and multiple narcotics violations related to the manufacture, distribution and use of methamphetamine.

Authorities say Andersen had eluded capture up until now by changing her physical appearance, using several aliases, dates of birth and social security numbers.

She’s being held in the Clay county jail on bond of 365,500-dollars. Andersen will be held there until the Clay county charges are completed. She will then be transported to the other counties that have warrants against her to face charges there.
