(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday unanimously approved a proposal that could lead to the life of a tax increment finance district in the East Okoboji Beach area being extended an additional 18 years.
The current district was formed to pay for the extension of sanitary sewer service to the development. The extension would allow the development to hard surface roads and install drainage improvements at a total estimated cost of roughly 2.1 million dollars.
The motion that was passed Tuesday allows an attorney to draw up the necessary paperwork, which will be reviewed by the supervisors prior to a public hearing being scheduled on the proposal.
