E’ville Woman Injured In One-Vehicle Rollover

(Estherville)– An Estherville woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident Thursday about a mile and-a-half north of Estherville on Emmet County Road N-26.

The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Sonia Gonzales-Vidales of Estherville was northbound when the vehicle drifted onto the right shoulder. Authorities say she over-corrected, causing the vehicle to leave the traveled portion of the road…entering into a skid. The vehicle entered the east ditch on the driver’s side, striking a burm of dirt. It then rolled, coming to rest driver’s side down in a fenceline.

Gonzalez-Vidales was transported by the Estherville Ambulance to Avera-Holy Family Hospital in Estherville. The extent of her injuries wasn’t known.

Gonzlaes-Vidales was charged with failure to maintain control.

The 1992 Dodge Dynasty she was driving sustained an estimated five thousand dollars in damage.

The mishap took place around 3:20 p.m. Thursday.
