(Estherville)– An Estherville woman has been charged for allegedly trying to smuggle marijuana to an inmate at the Emmet county jail.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says a jailer found some marijuana inside a deodorant container and a lighter inside some socks that a family member had dropped off for an inmate. It resulted in the arrest of 51-year-old Marsha Mariner of Estherville who was charged with furnishing a controlled substance, marijuana, to a prisoner…a class “D” felony.
A search warrant was then executed on Mariner’s residence, resulting in additional charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia being filed against her.
Mariner was booked into the Emmet county jail on bond of nearly 10-thousand dollars.
