(Estherville)– Police in Estherville say they’ve captured a fugitive.
Police say Luckas Joe Smith was apprehended last evening in Estherville. Smith was wanted on charges of burglary in the first degree…a class “B” felony; and violation of a protective order…a simple misdemeanor.
Authorities say Smith initially tried to elude capture, but later surrendered without incident.
He’s being held in the Emmet county jail.
Estherville police thank the citizens of Estherville for their vigilance and assistance in locating Smith.
Estherville police were assisted by the Iowa State Patrol and the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office.
