Events Center Not Slated For Completion Until After Clay Co. Fair

November 23, 2014

(Spencer)– Construction on the Regional Events Center at the Clay county fairgrounds in Spencer is entering its final stages. But the 50-thousand square foot facility won’t be completed until after this year’s fair…which opens this Saturday.

Carl St. Clair is the project manager and senior consultant with Compass Facility Management. He says fair officials won’t assume ownership of the building until sometime in October.

The facility will seat about 2,500 people. It will have retracable seating so the facility can be used for other events as well.

Although the Regional Events Center won’t be completed until after the fair, St. Clair says fairgoers will be able to get a sneak peak of the new facility. He says guided tours will be available to those interested, along with informational brochures.
