November 23, 2014

(Estherville)– Estherville police say a drug investigation that started last month with the execution of a search warrant on a residence in the city has concluded with two arrests.

Police say the search warrant was executed March 25th in the 1300 block of Third Avenue North in Estherville. It resulted in officers finding what’s alleged to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Authorities say a small child was also in the house at the time.

Following an investigation, police on Monday arrested 19-year-old Sean Ingvall of Estherville on a warrant for neglect of a dependent person. That’s in addition to a previous charge of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police also arrested 19-year-old Erica Book of Estherville on warrants for neglect of a dependent person, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ingvall and Book were both placed in the Emmet county jail. Bond for Ingvall was set at 13-thousand dollars cash or surety; Book is being held on a 14,950-dollar cash or surety bond.

Neglect of a dependent person is a class “C” felony punishable by a prison sentence not to exceed 10 years and a fine of atleast 675-dollars but not to exceed 6,750-dollars. Possession of marijuana is a serious misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia is a simple misdemeanor.
