(Ringsted)– An Estherville man was seriously injured Friday evening when a motorcycle he was driving rearended another one in Ringsted.
Emmet county authorities say 29-year-old William Jensen, Junior of Estherville was northbound on county road N-60 and was attempting to stop at the intersection with county road A-34 when he was struck in the rear by a motorcycle driven by 44-year-old Marlon Moffitt of Estherville. Authorities say the two had been riding together.
Moffitt was taken by ambulance to Holy Family Hospital with head injuries. He was then life-flighted to McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. His condition wasn’t immediately available.
No injuries were reported to Jensen.
Jensen was charged with operating while intoxicated and was booked into the Emmet county jail.
Authorities say the mishap, which took place shortly after 7:30 p.m., remains under investigation.
