Estherville Accident Sends Three To Hospital

November 22, 2014

(Estherville)– A two-vehicle accident Wednesday in Estherville sent three people to the hospital.

Estherville police say vehicles driven by 36-year-old Mark Moffitt of Estherville and 81-year-old Pearl Zitterich of Estherville collided in the intersection of South 13th Street and First Avenue South shortly before 2:00 p.m.

Zitterich, Moffitt and a passenger in the vehicle he was driving, 32-year-old Hope Moffitt, were taken by ambulance to Avera Holy Family Hospital.

Two thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 1984 Dodge driven by Moffitt; a 1998 Dodge driven by Zitterich sustained an estimated three thousand dollars in damage.

Police say Moffitt was southbound on 13th Street and Zitterich was eastbound on First Avenue South when she failed to stop for a stop sign and pulled into the path of Moffitt.
