(Sioux Center)– The state’s Environmental Protection Commission is bringing its May meeting to northwest Iowa.
Commissioners will meet at 9:00 a.m. May 18th at the Holiday Inn Express Conference Center in Sioux Center.
Among other business, commissioners will be asked to approve a proposal for a four-year contract with the Iowa Flood Center to provide and update flood plain maps in 85 counties affected by flooding in 2008.
Commissioners will also consider a contract for an index that can be used to monitor, assess and determine the condition of a wetland.
They’ll also be asked to approve additional monitoring for shallow lakes to determine if restoration efforts are working.
On May 17th commissioners will tour two livestock facilities in Sioux county.
