(Undated)– Projects to develop renewable energy systems and to assist farmers, ranchers and small businesses in rural areas in making energy efficiency improvements to their operations are getting some federal funding.
U.S. Senator Tom Harkin says 3.6 million dollars in loan guarantees and 2.9 million in grants will be coming to 61 Iowa farms in 26 Iowa counties, including Clay, Plymouth and Sioux in northwest Iowa.
Harkin is a member of the Appropriations Subcommittee that funds agriculture and energy initiatives.
