Emmetsburg Restricts Water Usage

(Emmetsburg)– Add Emmetsburg to the list of towns restricting the use of water due to drought conditions.

Effective immediately, the city is prohibiting residents from watering lawns and gardens between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. daily.

Jeff Morey, foreman of the water department for Emmetsburg Municipal Utilities, says he’s lived in the town since 1988 and this is the first time since then they’ve had to impose restrictions.

The restrictions will continue until further notice.
