An Emmetsburg teen was taken to the hospital after he was struck while riding his moped in Emmetsburg on Sunday.
According to the Police Department, 14 year old Seth Bird was taken to the Palo Alto County Hospital following the collision Sunday at the intersection of 5th and Lawler.
Bird was heading northbound on Lawler when he was struck by a southbound vehicle driven by 18 year old Mark Ausborn of Emmetsburg. Ausborn was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto 5th Street when he failed to see the moped and the 2 vehicles collided.
Bird was taken to the Hospital by ambulance. Ausborn was uninjured in the collision.
Mark Ausborn was cited by police for failure to yield upon making a left-hand turn.
