Emmetsburg Man Apprehended On Warrants For Theft; False Info. To Peace Officer

(Emmetsburg)– A man wanted on warrants for some thefts back in December of 2007 in Palo Alto county was apprehended Tuesday.

48-year-old Todd Friesner was wanted out of Palo Alto county for false information to a peace officer, a simple misdemeanor; and a warrant out of Kossuth county for theft in the first degree…a class “C” felony. Friesner was apprehended at a residence north of Emmetsburg.

The theft charge stems from some aluminum panels and a flatbed truck that were taken from Kossuth county and later found in Palo Alto county.

In addition to apprehending Friesner authorities also Tuesday arrested 52-year-old Steven Farris who was at the same residence. Farris was charged with accessory after the fact…an aggravated misdemeanor…for allegedly harboring Friesner to prevent his apprehension.

Both Friesner and Farris were transported to the Palo Alto county jail.

In addition, authorities say Farris was on probation and will eventually have that revoked.

Two other people were arrested shortly after the incident in December, 2007. 37-year-old Thomas Hughes of Terril and 55-year-old Rodney Finnestad of Ringsted. They were both charged with theft in the first degree. Finnestad was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance. Both were convicted and are currently service jail sentences.
