(Estherville)– Emmet county residents that sustained damage as a result of flooding from last weekend’s torrential rains are being requested to report it.
Terry Reekers, the county’s Emergency Management Coordinator, says residents that had damage should call the Iowa Concerns Hotline at 1-800-447-1985. Losses such as water heaters, furnaces, washers and dryers, freezers and personal items should be reported along with any structural damage.
Reekers says calling the number won’t guarantee financial aid, but he says it will help officials better determine the actual impact of the flood.
The Estherville area received more than five inches of rain in a short period last weekend causing extensive flooding in some areas.
