Emmet Co. Primary Ballot Features Crowded Field For Democrat Supervisor Seats

November 22, 2014

(Estherville)– There’s a crowded field of candidates for board of supervisors in Tuesday’s primary election in Emmet county.

Five people are running for three seats as democrats. Incumbents Roger Anderson and Wayne West are being challenged by John Hanson, Alan Madden and Mike McKay.

That’s in contrast to Dickinson county and several other counties in the area where a lackluster turnout is expected due to a lack of contested races. A three-way race among Democrats for the fifth district congressional seat, in many cases, will be the only drawing card. Gene Blanshan, Joyce Schulte and Sal Muhammed are squaring off.
