Emmet Co. Incumbent Supervisor Upset In Tuesday’s Primary

(Estherville)– There was an upset in Tuesday’s Primary Election in Emmet county.

Incumbent Democratic Supervisor Wayne West lost out in any bid for re-election to his post.

West was one of three Democrats running for three open at-large seats on the Emmet County Board of Supervisors. The top vote getters were Alan Madden with 346 votes…or 25 percent of the votes cast; Roger Anderson, an incumbent, with 317…or 23 percent of the vote; and Mike McKay who received 305 votes…for 22 percent of the vote.

West had 291 votes…or 21 percent of the vote; and John Hanson received 118 votes, or eight and-a-half percent of the votes cast.
