(Ocheyedan)– An eastern Iowa man drowned over the weekend in a gravel pit in Osceola county.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says it received a call shortly before 3:00 p.m. Sunday about a person that was drowning in a gravel pit. Rescuers located 31-year-old John Christensen, who was transported by ambulance to the Osceola Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Ocheyedan Ambulance, Ocheyedan Fire Department and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
