(Undated)– Two northwest Iowa cities have been awarded low-interest loans for projects to improve the quality of drinking water.
The money comes from the state’s Drinking Water Reserve Fund, financed by the U-S Environmental Protection Commission.
The program provides three percent loans for improvement projects and finances up to 100 percent of total project costs.
The city of Aurelia will receive 159-thousand dollars for a new well; and Storm Lake will get seven and-a-half million for new wells, filters, pumps and related equipment.
