Donations Lag In UDMO Back-To-School Program

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Donations continue to lag for Upper Des Moines Opportunity’s annual “Back-To-School” Program that provides funding for clothing and school supplies for less fortunate children.

Laurie Ruuf of UDMO says the need far exceeds the donations they’ve received so far. As of last Friday, Ruuf says they had enough money for 93 children. 150 applications have been received.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the program should do so yet this week by stopping by the Upper Des Moines Opportunity office on the southeast side of the Great Lakes Mall in Spirit Lake.

In addition to monetary donations, you can also purchase back-to-school supples and donate them to the UDMO program by dropping them off in the Priority One wagon at Wal-Mart in Spirit Lake. The wagon will be there until August 20th. Lists of the supplies that are needed are also available at the store.
