(Milford)– A dog kennel/storage shed was destroyed by fire late Tuesday afternoon in Milford.
Fire Chief Don Eckard says his department was called to the George Ashman residence at 1503 “H” Avenue around 5:00 p.m. He says the fire was pretty much out when they arrived.
Eckard says some dogs in the kennel apparently pulled some blankets down onto a heat lamp, starting them on fire. The blaze spread quickly from there.
The fire was discovered by a passerby who called authorities and notified the homeowners. They were able to get the dogs out unharmed and quickly doused the fire.
The Milford Fire Department was on the scene about 15 to 20 minutes.
