(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors earlier this week signed off on plans to replace the Trigg’s or Hinshaw Bridge in Arnolds Park.
The supervisors had earlier expressed concern over the plans, saying they wanted to make sure the traveled portion of the road is going to be wider than what’s on the existing bridge. After getting a clarification from the engineer on the project that it will, indeed, be the case, the supervisors Tuesday approved the plans. The Arnolds Park city council signed off on the project last week.
A bidletting is set for June 21st, 2005.
The supervisors also this week approved a proposal to establish a Tax Increment Finance District for West Bay Estates on Silver Lake near Lake Park. The county had to be involved in the process because the city of Lake Park doesn’t have the proper bonding capacity for such a project.
It was pointed out the arrangement won’t wind up costing taxpayers anything, but it will capture a portion of the county’s bonding ability until the TIF expires in 15 years. Even then Assistant County Attorney Lonnie Saunders told the board the county will still have sufficient bonding capacity without having to worry about jeopardizing any services.
