(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors are finalizing the county’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year. They’ve scheduled a public hearing on it for 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 17th.
The proposed budget has total expenditures of 12-point-eight million dollars with total revenues of slightly more than 11 and-a-half million dollars. The county will dip into its carryover to make up the difference.
The levy rate for urban areas of the county would be $3.33 per thousand dollars valuation; for rural areas, it would be about $5.01 per thousand. The proposed rates are three cents per thousand dollars valuation lower than they currently are.
