Dickinson Supervisors Concerned Over Manure-Filled Ditch

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– An obstructed tile line that’s causing manure to fill a ditch along a county road in eastern Dickinson county was a topic of discussion at Tuesday’s board of supervisors meeting.

It’s near a large cattle lot just east of Superior.

The county is concerned over health issues. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has also been contacted and is investigating the matter.

The board of supervisors decided to send a letter to the owner of the feedlot advising him the county will remove the obstruction unless someone else does it first, within five to seven days of the letter being received.

Neighbors of the site have been complaining about flies and odor.
